PERFUMES INSPIRED BY PHOTO EMOTIONS
HAPPY NEW YEAR IN FRAGRANCE!
Discover the fragrance Vanilla Shot, filtered through the lens of Land Art Artist Martin Hill at the New Zealand’s Lake Wanaka, providing a powerful source of inspiration
In Hill’s photograph, an arch rises above the lake’s surface, sculpted from thin pieces of wood and fine linen thread, recalling the elongated form of a vanilla pod. This delicate balance and tension is echoed in perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour’s composition.
THE KEY TO VANILLA SHOT'S UNIQUE AROMA.
Myrrh is an aromatic resin extracted from the bark of Commiphora myrrha, commonly known as the myrrh tree. Native to the Arabian peninsula and the Horn of Africa, myrrh has been prized for thousands of years—both for its beautiful aroma and for its natural antiseptic properties. It was used by the Egyptians during the embalming process and it was mentioned in the Bible along with gold and frankincense as one of the gifts presented to Jesus by the Three Wise Men.
In perfumery, myrrh is used primarily as a base note in oriental compositions, imbuing fragrances with a unique warm and spicy aroma, described variously as sweet, caramel-like, dark and sensual.
